Solid ink technology - a solid performance

Solid ink is nothing new. Xerox created the technology in the early 1990's and it has become a very competitive and viable technology within the colored ink industry.

Desktop color printing for businesses is served by two main technologies: solid inks and laser. Laser color printing started out as monochrome (black and white) only. Over time laser technology eventually evolved to handle color printing. Solid ink color technology was developed with color printing in mind and specifically developed to overcome the limitations inherent in laser color printers. Many companies have tried to match Xerox's expertise in color printing but none can match the convenience and quality offered by solid ink printer technology. Color printers with solid stick ink have only one consumable versus a color laser which have numerous consumables that eventually end up filling up landfill sites.

The technology of ink solids leads to simpler, quicker and more reliable printers than either laser or inkjet printers. The ink is also competitively priced to give a cost per page equivalent to laser printers. Solid ink printers also require less space than a laser printer since they are smaller and print on a broad range of papers to give outstanding color output.

Given all the advantages that this ink technology delivers it's not surprising that it is growing in popularity as more businesses and individuals become aware of it's advantages and color printing superiority.
