The toner save mode conserves toner by only printing the outline of textual characters and not filling the center of the characters. Obviously there will be print jobs that require high quality output and in those instances you would switch off the toner saver mode. However, the reality is that there will be plenty of print jobs where draft mode using toner saver mode is sufficient.
While your at it you can also save on paper by switching to duplex mode if you have that feature on your printer. The benefit is that you will cut down on the amount of paper by printing on both sides of the page. It also gives your reports and projects a more professional look as well!
