HP inkjet cartridge refill - Extending the life of your cartridge

When considering an HP inkjet cartridge refill it helps to understand how the HP cartridge works and how you can very easily extend the life of the cartridge.

The HP inkjet cartridge actually has the print head incorporated into it. The metallic portion of the cartridge contains the circuitry and nozzles which could number in the hundreds.

Each nozzle, is quite small in size, and controlled by a resistor that heats and cools the ink inside the cartridge. It is the heating and cooling of the ink that causes the ink to flow through the nozzles at a very high rate of speed - thousands of drops per second. When your HP cartridge wears out it is actually the transistors or heaters that wear out. These generally wear out after 3 to 5 refills of the ink cartridge.

An HP inkjet cartridge refill tip that can double the life of your cartridge!

The HP cartridge has a limited refill life because the resistors that control the ink flow literally burnout. When a cartridge runs dry of ink the resistors overheat and burnout. To extend the life of the resistors you should refill your HP ink cartridge as soon as the ink becomes low and then keep it topped off. Refer to your printer owner manual to check the ink level in your cartridges if your not sure on how to do it.

Just doing this one simple thing can double the life of your HP inkjet cartridges!
