How to extend the life of your Lexmark ink cartridge refill

When considering a Lexmark ink cartridge refill it helps to understand how a Lexmark cartridge works and what makes it unique from other brands of inkjet cartridge on the market and how you can very easily extend the life of the cartridge.

The Lexmark inkjet cartridge is one of the few on the market that actually has the print head incorporated into it. The metallic portion of the cartridge that you see contains the nozzles and circuitry. The cartridge can contain between 48 and 320 or more nozzles.

Each nozzle, which is quite small in size, is controlled by a resistor that heats and cools the ink inside the cartridge. It is the heating and cooling of the ink that causes the ink to flow through the nozzles at a very high rate of speed - thousands of drops per second. When your Lexmark cartridge wears out it is actually the transistors or heaters that wear out. These generally wear out after 3 to 5 refills of the ink cartridge.

A Lexmark cartridge refill tip that can double the life of your cartridge!

The main reason that your Lexmark cartridge has a limited refill life is that the resistors that control the ink flow literally burnout. They overheat and burnout when a cartridge runs dry of ink. Therefore, to extend the life of the resistors and thus your cartridge life, you should immediately refill your Lexmark ink cartridge when the ink becomes low and keep it topped off. Refer to your printer owner manual to check the ink level in your cartridges if your not sure on how to do it.

Just doing this one simple thing can double the life of your Lexmark ink cartridges!
